Ramya Krishnan took to social media to post a video, which documented her reaction to watching Padayappa (1999) on the big screen. The KS Ravikumar directorial returned to theatres on December 12, on the occasion of actor Rajinikanth's birthday.

The video showed her reacting to the scene where an aged Neelambari (Ramya Krishnan) meets Padayappa (Rajinikanth) after 18 years. The actor captioned the video by writing, "Finally watched Padayappa in the theater for first time."

Padayappa was originally released in 1999, when Rajinikanth completed 25 years in the film industry. The film was one of Sivaji Ganesan's final films.

The film also featured Soundarya, Lakshmi, Manivannan, Nassar, Radha Ravi, Senthil, Ramesh Khanna, Sithara, Anu Mohan, and Pritha Hari, among others.

The film was a turning point in Ramya Krishnan's career. She went on to become an established character actor in multiple languages. The film is currently playing in theatres.
