The makers of Retta Thala have released the trailer for the film, at a launch event conducted in Chennai. Retta Thala, headlined by Arun Vijay, is directed by Kris Thirukumaran, who has previously directed films like Maan Karate (2014) and Gethu (2016).

The trailer is told from the perspective of the second character that Arun Vijay is playing. The teaser for the film, revealed his gangster character, Malpe Upendra, and his tribulations. Now the trailer shows Arun Vijay and Siddhi Idnani's characters, getting caught in a tussle and struggling to escape it. The trailer also offers a glimpse at the high octane action of the film.

Before making his feature film debut, Thirukumaran worked with AR Murugadoss on Ghajini, 7 aum Arivu, and worked on Thuppaki's script.

Retta Thala's cast includes Tanya Ravichandra, Yogi Samy, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss. The film is produced by Bobby Balachandran. BTG Universal is the banner backing the film. Sam CS is composing the music and has written lyrics for the film.\

Retta Thala is set to release on December 25.
