Sivakumar recalls his time with Rajinikanth on Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri

Ahead of actor Rajinikanth's birthday, actor Sivakumar wished the former and recalled working together on Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977). Sivakumar played the antagonist in Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977), which also starred Rajinikanth and Sumithra.

In a video published in Cinema Vikatan's YouTube channel, Sivakumar said, "On the first day of shooting, he had to act out a monologue. But after 4 or 5 takes, the result wasn't proper. He was upset at first, but became better."

Sivakumar also recalled Rajinikanth getting a call during shooting, from a certain person, from Hyderabad. He recalls, that when they were having dinner together, Rajinikanth said, "I am feeling very disturbed. After 6 takes, I couldn't perform better. I am not speaking Tamil fluently, yet I am getting calls from K Balachandar sir, for a Telugu film. I feel like running back to my native." Sivakumar shared that he was able to instill some hope into Rajinikanth.

Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977) was a first for Sivakumar and Rajinikanth, as they both essayed characters that was out of type for both of them. Sivakumar only portrayed positive roles in films before, Rajinikanth essayed villaneous roles in films before Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977).

The film was directed by SP Muthuraman, with a screenplay by Panchu Arunachalam, with a story by Maharishi. Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri (1977) was also one of music composer Ilaiyaraaja's earliest projects.
