Suriya's 47th outing, helmed by Jithu Madhavan, went on floors on Sunday. Also starring Nazriya Fahadh and Naslen in lead roles, the film is backed by Zhagaram Studios. Now, with the film officially launched, Suriya is reportedly back in Hyderabad to complete filming for Suriya 46 before starting work on his next.
Helmed by Venky Atluri, Suriya 46 also stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. Bhavani Sre, Radikaa Sarathkumar and senior Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon are portraying key roles. The film is backed by Naga Vamsi, under his Sithara Entertainments banner.
On the technical team, GV Prakash will be scoring the music for Suriya 46. He is reuniting with Venky Atluri for the third time after Vaathi (2023) and Lucky Baskhar (2024). This is also the composer's second film with Suriya after Soorarai Pottru (2020). The film marked her Tamil debut. The technical crew also includes editor Navin Nooli and cinematographer Nimish Ravi. Suriya 46 is scheduled to be released in theatres during the summer of 2026.
Meanwhile, Suriya 47 will feature music by Sushin Shyam, cinematography by Vineeth Unni Palode and editing by Ajmal Sabu. John Vijay, Anandaraj, and more are also set to play key supporting roles in the film.
Jithu Madhavan is known for Aavesham starring Fahadh Faasil. He made his directorial debut with Romancham. Suriya 47 marks Suriya's first collaboration with Nazriya. The two were previously set to collaborate with Sudha Kongara for a film, which was shelved. It was later revived with Sivakarthikeyan as Parasakthi, which also stars Sreeleela, Atharvaa and Ravi Mohan.
On the work front, Suriya also has Karuppu in the pipeline, awaiting release. Helmed by RJ Balaji, the film also stars Trisha in the lead role.
