Ten days after the release of Rajinikanth's Coolie, Rachita Ram and Kanna Ravi exchanged fun banter on X on Monday. In the film, Rachita Ram's character, Kalyani, betrays Kanna Ravi's Arjun, eventually leading to his murder in the film.

On Saturday, Kanna Ravi took to X to share a photo of himself with Rachita from the film's sets. He captioned the post, "Why Kalyani? Why me?" Replying to this post, Rachita, on Monday, wrote, "Arjun!!! I just followed Lokesh Kanagaraj's script! Blame our BOSS for my crazy behaviour!" (sic)

In Lokesh Kanagaraj's sixth directorial, Coolie, Rachita Ram's Kalyani goes through a surprising transformation. From being an innocent lover to Arjun, Simon's (Nagarjuna) son, she is revealed as the wife of Dayal (Soubin Shahir) and a bigger mastermind behind their ploy. Rachita Ram has received massive appreciation for her role in the film.

After opening to a record-breaking Rs 65 crore on August 14, Coolie maintained steady momentum over the Independence Day weekend, crossing Rs 150 crore in just three days. However, the film saw a drastic decline in collections from Monday onwards, slipping to single digits by Day 5. But with the start of its second weekend, Coolie bounced back. As per trade estimates, the film has now collected an estimated Rs 256.75 crore across India in 11 days.

An excerpt from CE’s review of the film reads, “There are so many characters, and yet, the writing doesn't allow any of them to flourish except for Soubin’s Dayalan and Shruti’s Preethi. Surprisingly, even Deva gets a raw deal, as his start-stop arc is as random as the machinations of Simon and the machine of Rajasekhar.”

Backed by Sun Pictures, Coolie stars Rajinikanth alongside Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Upendra and Rachita Ram. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj.
