Actor-singer Shruti Haasan has seen a steady rise in her career since making her debut in the 2009 Hindi film Luck. Over the past decade, she has been active across Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema, delivering several notable performances. However, her journey hasn't been without its share of challenges.

In an interview ahead of Coolie's much-anticipated release, she revealed how Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth stood as a pillar of support when she was going through a low point in her career. Shruti revealed that she once faced doubts about her career, but Dhanush’s encouragement helped dispel the uncertainty and gave her clarity.

Dhanush and Shruti Haasan co-starred in 3 (2012), which although opened to mixed reviews, went on to gain a cult following through the years. Speaking to Galatta Plus, she said, "There was a lot of faith from the team and a lot of support. Acting opposite Dhanush definitely helped. He’s a really supportive co-star, especially at that time in my life. I had a lot of doubts, so he was very encouraging, he and Aishwarya (Rajinikanth)."

She further added, "My role was so pivotal to the story, too. I always perform under pressure when I’m given responsibility. I realised that then, and the wall broke. After that, my personality also changed a lot."

In an earlier interview with another channel, she asserted that if 3 had released in the current time, it would have been a "rage" and its success would have been bigger than the 'Kolaveri Di' song. The film was directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth and revolved around a man suffering from bipolar disorder and his relationship with his family and friends.

Meanwhile, Coolie, starring Rajinikanth in the lead and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is slated for release on August 14. It stars an ensemble cast consisting of industry bigwigs like Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Aamir Khan.
