Earlier, we reported about Shruti Haasan playing a role in Train, directed by Mysskin and also starring Narain and Vijay Sethupathi. Recently, Shruti revealed that she only plays a cameo role in the film. Speaking to Sudhir Srinivasan on his namesake channel, the actor said that she initially went to sing a song for the film, but then Mysskin thought of an idea and cast her in it. The actor also revealed that she does not have any "direct scenes" with Vijay but is happy to be part of a film starring him again. Vijay and Shruti collaborated previously on 2021's Laabam.

Despite her limited screen presence in Train, Shruti disclosed that the role posed a unique challenge for her as an actor. "Mysskin sir asked me to say my dialogues faster," the actor said. "And you wanted the metre (for the character) even physically; it is the first time I had to really work against my body, against my metre and against my pitch." She also shared that the role required her to breathe in a way that does not come naturally to her. "How do you hyperventilate without looking like you are hyperventilating. It was really interesting."

Shruti had effusive praise for Mysskin as a filmmaker, especially his approach. "I had a great time working with. He is a very unique person. He makes you feel liberated and free in the environment of working. He lets you explore." She also said that you get the unexpected from the filmmaker, comparing it to a "cheese dosa".

The makers of Train are yet to announce a release date for it.

Meanwhile, Shruti Haasan's upcoming films also include Coolie, which marks her first collaboration with Rajinikanth and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj. Also starring Soubin Shahir, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Aamir Khan, among others, Coolie is slated for an August 14 release in theatres worldwide.
