For Ramkumar Balakrishnan, this is a mile-high moment, as he has received multiple national awards for his debut feature film Parking. For his script he received the National Award for Best Screenplay (Original) along with winning the National Award for Best Tamil Film. He shares the win for Best Screenplay with Sri Rajesh Neelam, who won for Baby.

In a video posted to Instagram, he said, "When the film was released theatrically, it was the time of floods. But braving that, the audience went and watched it. Spreading news about the film only through word-of-mouth, helped more people watch the film on OTT. This kind of reception has resulted in the film receiving National Awards."

He added, "Along with the cast and crew, I also thank the producers Sinish and Sudhan for their support in taking a small idea and making it into a film. Winning the national award feels unbelievable. But I will take this as a responsibility to take more efforts for my next films."

MS Bhaskar won the National Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Parking. He shared the award with actor Vijayaraghavan, for his performance in Pookkaalam. Parking also stars Harish Kalyan, Indhuja Ravichandran, Prathana Nathan, Rama Rajendra, and Ilavarasu.

Previously, the screenplay of the film was added to the library of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Academy is the authority that awards the Oscars each year.
