Sasikumar is busy promoting his upcoming film Tourist Family, helmed by Abishan Jeevinth. In a recent interview, the actor-director opened up about his next directorial.

Speaking to Galatta Plus, Sasikumar said, “My next directorial is a period film. I will also be playing a character in it. The pre-production for the film, which will be set in a village, is going on now. It is scheduled to go on floors early next year.” He was also asked about a similar period film, which he had earlier narrated to both Vijay and Suriya. “It still hasn’t materialised because I haven’t found the right protagonist. But I can do that film at any point in time when I find my hero.”

Tourist Family also stars Simran, Mithun Jai Sankar, Kamalesh, Yogi Babu, M S Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bhagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi. It is jointly produced by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment.

The technical crew of Tourist Family comprises composer Sean Roldan, editor Barath Vikraman, and cinematographer Aravind Viswanathan. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 1, coinciding with Suriya-Karthik Subbaraj’s Retro.

Meanwhile, Sasikumar has a number of films, namely, Freedom, Evidence, Naa Naa, and Pagaivanuku Arulvai, among others, in various stages of production.
