
On Thursday, director Rathna Kumar, known for Meyaadha Maan, took to his official X handle to review Sasikumar's Tourist Family. The film also stars Simran and Mithun Jai Shankar in prominent roles. He penned a review ahead of the film's release on May 1.
He started by writing, "Tourist Family is a classy film. A simple film with lot of heart. Lot of Gubeer ROFL moments and emotionally melting moments throughout the film." He then went on to praise the film's as Sasikumar's best work so far. "For me this is Sasikumar sir’s best as an actor. I got blown away seeing the post interval sequence. What a well written sequence it is. Theater will go bonkers for it."
He further wrote, "That small kid, that elder son, Simran mam, house owner ponnu, pakkathu veetu Old couple, ethir veetu Uncle, R Raghavan, Alcohol addict teenage boy, Thilak Ramesh, small dog. Every character became my favourite. Stunning debut by director Abishan Jeevinth. This man is just 24, and he has arrived already. Became your fan. There are six Thalapathy references. Everything is smartly used and will bring the roof down." sic
The rest of the cast of Tourist Family includes Yogi Babu, Kamalesh, MS Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi.
The technical crew of the film includes Sean Roldan as the composer, Aravind Viswanathan as the director of photography, Barath Vikraman as the editor, and Raj Kamal as the art director. Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan are the producers of the upcoming film.
Tourist Family will open in theatres alongside Karthik Subbaraj-Suriya's Retro.
