Actor Vijay Antony had clarified his statement on the Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of 26 people last week in an attack that was claimed by the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. With tensions escalating on both India and Pakistan's fronts, the actor mentioned on Sunday that "50 lakh Indians in Pakistan, who along with Pakistanis like us, seek peace and happiness." He also asked people not to fall into a trap of hate and division, even after such a painful tragedy.

With his statement being misunderstood by a part of the public and media, the Gagana Maargan actor underlined that the "massacre in Kashmir was committed by a monstrous group of terrorists, whose only goal is to break the strong bond of our unity."

His statement further read, "The Government of India and we, as Indians, will protect our sovereignty with a strong hand."

On the work front, Vijay Antony's upcoming projects include the neo-political drama Shakthi Thirumagan and the murder mystery crime thriller Gagana Maargan, which marks editor Leo John Paul's directorial debut.
