The makers of actor Shiva’s long-delayed film Sumo unveiled the ‘Aazhiye’ song from the film on Monday. Composed by Nivas K Prasanna, the romantic melody is crooned by Naresh Iyer, Hevin Booster, Nithyasree, and Rose Veronica. Mohanrajan and Deepti Reddy have penned the lyrics for the song.

SP Hosimin, the filmmaker behind Bharath’s February 14 and Shanthnu’s Aayiram Vilakku, is the director of Sumo. The film is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner.

The extended cast of Sumo comprises Priya Anand, VTV Ganesh, Sathish, Yogi Babu and sumo wrestler Yoshinori Tashiro. The film follows Shiva and Ganesh’s characters, who come across a sumo wrestler with exceptional physical strength but subpar mental abilities. The former two are tasked with babysitting him while also discovering his identity and background.

The film, which was in the making since 2019, underwent multiple delays due to production issues and later due to the coronavirus pandemic. Apart from Nivas K Prasanna, the technical team also comprises DOP Rajiv Menon and editor Praveen KL.

Sumo is all set to hit theatres on April 25 alongside Sundar C-Vadivelu’s Gangers.
