On Sunday, the trailer for Shiva’s long-delayed film, Sumo, was unveiled by the makers. Also starring Priya Anand and VTV Ganesh, the film is helmed by SP Hosimin, who previously helmed Bharath-starrer February 14 and Shanthanu's Aayiram Vilakku.

The trailer shows Shiva and VTV Ganesh being tasked with babysitting a sumo wrestler who has extreme physical strength but is like a child when it comes to mental abilities. As they understand his background, they’re also forced to face a few of his enemies.

Sumo also stars Sathish, Yogi Babu, and Yoshinori Tashiro, among others, in prominent roles. The film, which was in the making since 2019, underwent multiple delays due to production issues and later due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ishari K Ganesh is producing the film under the Vels Film International banner.

On the technical team, Sumo has music by Nivas K Prasanna, cinematography by Rajiv Menon and editing by Praveen KL. The film is all set to hit theatres on April 25 alongside Sundar C’s Gangers.
