Ahead of the release on May 1, the makers of Karthik Subbaraj's next, Retro, starring Suriya, dropped the third single from the film, 'The One,' on Saturday.

'The One' is a hero elevation number, which is unconventional for not being beat-heavy. The song, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, is sung by him and Sid Sriram, with Shan Vincent De Paul (SVDP) lending his vocals for the rap portions. Lyricist Vivek has penned this number.

With Pooja Hegde playing the female lead, Joju George, Jayaram, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj also star in pivotal roles in Retro. Suriya, Jyotika, and Rajsekar Karpoorasundarapandian are producing Retro, which marks the former’s 44th film, under the 2D Entertainment banner. Karthik Subbaraj and Kaarthekeyan S are co-producing the film through their banner Stone Bench Films.

Retro went on floors last year, and shooting was wrapped up in October. While a previously released teaser revealed Suriya's character trying to put his life of crime behind him for the sake of his love for Pooja Hedge's character, the film's plot is largely undisclosed.

The technical crew of Retro comprises composer Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer Shreyaas Krishna and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.
