At a recent event, director-actor S Ve Shekher said that he was originally cast to play Siddharth's father in the Netflix film Test but was later removed from it. Earlier this Sunday, he took to X and lashed out at the makers for the decision to remove him from the film's cast and suggested that the film did not hit theatres due to the decision thereof. He wrote, "After booking me for a film, if I withdraw myself or get removed, that film won’t get released or hit the theaters. Even if it does, it won’t run. This is history. History continues."

Netflix and the film's producer Chakravarthy Ramachandra are yet to respond to the director-actor's comment. Directed by S Sashikanth, Test stars Siddharth, R Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles. An excerpt from our review of the film reads, "It’s a film rich with emotional possibilities, a breeding ground for nuance and complexity. But it hopes, a bit too optimistically, that the sum of its intense moments will somehow coalesce into something meaningful. It never quite bridges the emotional gap between us and its characters."
