On Tuesday, the makers of Sundar C’s Gangers unveiled the film’s trailer. Apart from directing the film, Sundar C also stars along with Vadivelu and Catherine Tresa in lead roles.
The trailer showcases Sundar C as an undercover cop posing as a physical education trainer at a school, where he shares teaching duties with the inept Vadivelu. Sundar C's mission is to bring a group of thieves to justice by outsmarting them and stealing crores of rupees. To accomplish this, he assembles a quirky team, including Vadivelu, Catherine Tresa, and others. The trailer promises a nostalgic comedy experience, reminiscent of the 90s, with Vadivelu showcasing his signature humour through multiple avatars and nods to classic films.
Bagavathi Perumal, Esakki Krishnasamy, Hareesh Peradi, Mime Gopi, and Munishkanth round out the supporting cast of Gangers.
Sundar C and Vadivelu have a storied collaborative history, with notable films like Winner, Giri, Thalainagaram, and London. Their last joint project was Nagaram Marupakkam, released in 2010, marking a 14-year hiatus until their upcoming reunion in Gangers.
Gangers is produced by Khushbu and Sundar C under the Avni Cinemax banner, with Benzz Media Pvt Ltd and ACS Arun Kumar presenting it. The film’s technical crew comprises cinematographer E Krishnaswamy, editor Praveen Antony, and music composer C Sathya.
Gangers is scheduled to hit theatres on April 24.
