The teaser for the upcoming film, Neela Nira Sooriyan, written and directed by and starring Samyuktha Vijayan, was unveiled on Sunday. The film is backed by Mala Manyan under the First Copy Productions banner.

The teaser shows Samyuktha as a person assigned as male by birth. However, they struggle with their identity all through their school life, as they are not able to openly embrace their transgender identity in a homophobic world.

Steev Benjamin is the music composer, editor and cinematographer for Neela Nira Sooriyan. Samyuktha Vijayan and Mala Manyan co-produced the film.

Neela Nira Sooriyan was the official selection at the International Film Festival of India, 2023, and at the Glasgow Film Festival, 2024. Also called Blue Sunshine, the film is all set to hit theatres on October 4.
