In response to concerns about the film's runtime, the makers of Karthi-Arvind Swamy's Meiyazhagan announced that the duration will go under a scissor.

Director C Premkumar, in his official note, first thanked fans for accepting films that stand apart from the mainstream film language. He added while he was overwhelmed by fans' love for the film, some raised concerns over the long runtime. With 18 minutes and 42 seconds reduced from the original runtime of 2 hours and 57 minutes, the revised runtime will be 2 hours and 38 minutes.

Premkumar further added that despite the trim, there wouldn't be any sort of dilution in Meiyazhagan's theatrical experience.

Meiyazhagan also stars Rajkiran, Saran Shakthi, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sri Ranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran, Rachel Rebecca, Anthony, Rajkumar, Indumati, Rani Samyukta, Kayal Subramani, and Ashok Pandian.

Our CE review of the film read, "Meiyazhagan beautifully captures the cyclical, rewarding nature of goodness, and how healing begets healing."

Meiyazhagan is produced by Suriya and Jyotika under their 2D Entertainment banner. The film has cinematography by Mahendran Jayaraju and editing by R Govindraj. The film reunites Govind Vasantha and Prem Kumar after their blockbuster soundtrack in 96.
