Following a series of character reveals for the upcoming Rajinikanth film Vettaiyan, the makers on Thursday revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will play the character of Sathyadev in the film. In the video released, Bachchan seems to share screen space with Rajinikanth.

Previous character reveals were Fahadh Faasil as Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Ritika Singh as Roopa, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, and Manju Warrier as Thara.

It is to be noted that Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are reuniting for a film after 33 years. Their collaboration dates back to films like Andhaa Kaanoon (1983), and Geraftaar (1985). Their last film was Hum, which was released in 1991.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan has music by Anirudh. This marks Anirudh's fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta (2019), Darbar (2020), and Jailer (2023). Other members include cinematographer SR Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.

Vettaiyan is scheduled to hit theatres on October 10 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada.
