'Veri' from Karthi-Aravind Swami's Meiyazhagan celebrates Jallikattu and Tamils

Ahead of its release later this month, the makers of Meiyazhagan released the video song 'Veri' on Saturday.

The song celebrates Jallikattu and the valour of Tamils. The visuals alternated between real Jallikattu scenes and other major protests that took place in Tamil Nadu. 'Veri' is composed by Govind Vasantha, penned by Karthik Netha, and sung by VM Mahalingam and Aruna.

The film, directed by C Prem Kumar, will have Karthi and Aravind Swami cast in lead roles. Sri Divya will play the female lead in the film, which will also have Saran Shakti and Rajkiran in prominent roles. The rest of the cast includes Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sri Ranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran, Rachel Rebecca, Anthony, Rajkumar, Indumati, Rani Samyukta, Kayal Subramani, and Ashok Pandian.

Meiyazhagan has cinematography by Mahendran Jayaraju and editing by R Govindraj. The film reunites Govind Vasantha and Prem Kumar after their blockbuster soundtrack in 96.

Meiyazhagan is all set for theatrical release on September 27.
