Venkat Prabhu, the director of the recently released Vijay starrer The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), revealed that H Vinoth will be helming Vijay's next film. In an exclusive interview with Cinema Express, Venkat Prabhu said that he wanted to make GOAT a celebration of Vijay, as he didn't know what the plan is for Vijay's next with Vinoth. He also mentioned he wasn't aware of the type of film Vinoth wants to make, and hence, he made an all-out entertainer that had all elements.

H Vinoth's last three films have starred Ajith Kumar in the lead, namely Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), Valimai (2022), and Thunivu (2023). It has been rumoured that Samantha will star as the female lead for his upcoming film with Vijay, while Anirudh might be scoring the music.

Notably, this will also potentially be Vijay's last film as a lead before he makes the plunge into politics, with the upcoming state elections scheduled to take place in 2026. If the project with Vinoth gets officially launched, it will mark Vijay's 69th film.
