Trisha had a special appearance in the song 'Matta'

Archana Kalpathi, the creative producer of the recently released Vijay-starrer The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), thanked actor Trisha for her special appearance in the film. Trisha made a surprise cameo in the song 'Matta,' where she dances alongside Vijay. The actor had shared some BTS images yesterday.

"Love u my Yellow Saree," captioned Archana, along with a short snippet from the song. Vijay and Trisha have shared screen space in several films like Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006), Kuruvi (2008), and Leo (2023). Trisha's cameo was widely speculated before release, although it wasn't confirmed by the makers.

GOAT opened to mixed to positive reviews upon its release on Thursday. The CE review of the film reads, "Every film, ultimately, is an exercise in storytelling, and in GOAT, that takes a backseat once the Thalapathy-Ilayathalapathy premise gets set up. Vijay is great as both characters (and I particularly enjoyed the young energy he brings to the role of Sanjay). Though there was much talk about the VFX potentially being a problem ahead of the film’s release, I had no real issues. The problem—the more serious one to me—is the film lacking a moral centre."

The makers announced yesterday that the film has made Rs 126.32 crore at the box office globally on its opening day.

Apart from Vijay, GOAT also stars Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhudeva, Mohan, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Joining them are Venkat Prabhu's frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash.

GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, art direction by Rajeevan, and action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan. Kalpathi S Aghoram has produced the film under the AGS Entertainment banner, with Archana Kalpathi serving as the creative producer.

The film was released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu, with Zee Studios distributing it across North Indian states in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
