Pa Ranjith, one of the most prominent and politically outspoken filmmakers in current times, congratulated actor-politician Vijay on his first political speech through a tweet. Earlier on Sunday, Vijay rolled out his political ideologies at TVK's first conference held in Vikravandi, Villupuram, Tamil Nadu.

Loosely translated from Tamil, his post reads, "'Pirappokkum ella uyirkkum' (All are equal by birth) is a fundamental truth and Actor Vijay has professed that ideology on his first political speech. My heartfelt wishes to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay anna. I welcome the fact that he declared "Part of the administration, part of the governance" and also the fact that he would work against religious and casteist seperatism, and corruption."

Ranjith is known to raise his voice against caste discrimination and is a follower of BR Ambedkar. Vijay had mentioned in his speech that Periyar, Kamarajar, BR Ambedkar, Velu Nachiyar, and Anjalai Ammal are their ideological leaders.
