Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi will star together for the first film in the upcoming Diwali release, the Rajkumar Periyasamy actioner Amaran. Sharing his thoughts on Sai Pallavi during its audio launch function, Siva said that back in 2015, when the Nivin Pauly starrer Premam released, he was amused to see everyone celebrating the character of Sai Pallavi. She played the role of Malar, a teacher who Nivin's character falls in love with.
"Once I saw the film, I also became a fan of her. I called her up to appreciate her performance. I also told her that perhaps sometime in the future, we might get an opportunity to act together. After these many years, it has happened with Amaran." Siva also said that she has built a niche for herself. "Sai Pallavi is a brand. She chooses her scripts very carefully."
Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi essay the roles of Major Mukund Varadharajan and Indu Rebecca Varghese.
Amaran has music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by CH Sai, editing by Kalaivanan, and stunt direction by Stefan Richter. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures International Productions.
