Vettaiyan box office after Day 2: Rajinikanth films crosses 50 crore mark

The Rajinikanth film Vettaiyan has set the box office on fire, earning a total of around Rs 55 crores in India after two days of release. In a report by box office tracker Sachnilk, the film earned around 24 crores in its second day, bringing its collections to a total of Rs 55 crores. It had the second biggest opening of the year for a Tamil film at 31.7 crores, after the Vijay starrer GOAT.

The collections dropped by 24 percent from its first day, but this can be attributed to Friday being a working day. Hence, the numbers are expected to pick up over the weekend, making the film comfortably cross the coveted 100 crore mark. Around half of the collections are from the Tamil version alone, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 5.3 crores.

Vettaiyan also stars Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Fahadh Faasil, Rithika Singh, Manju Warrier, Abhirami, and Rohini, among others. The film's technical crew comprises music composer Anirudh, cinematographer SR Kathir, and editor Philomin.
