On Thursday, following the release of Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth took to her official X handle to praise the film and compliment the entire cast and crew. She wrote, "One and only Thalaivar forever. We have won, my dear friend TJ Gnanavel. Too proud, Anirudh Ravichander, the best in recent times, my brother. Too happy for words !! A huge congrats to the entire cast and crew of Vettaiyan, and thank you all for making this solid content + Thalaivar Mass film. A blockbuster."

Apart from Rajinikanth, the TJ Gnanavel directorial also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Abhirami, Rana Daggubati, Rithika Singh, and Rohini, among others. The film's technical team comprises music by Anirudh Ravichander, editing by Philomin, and cinematography by SR Kathir. The film has opened to average reviews from critics and audiences. 

Vettaiyan saw its highest earnings in Tamil Nadu, generating Rs 26 cr, followed by Telugu collections of over Rs 3 cr. However, its Hindi version faced a setback due to the ongoing OTT-release dispute, resulting in a limited release excluding national cinema chains, potentially impacting its overall box office success, especially considering Amitabh Bachchan's significant draw.
