On Thursday, following the release of Vettaiyan, Dushara Vijayan, who plays a pivotal character in the Rajinikanth-vehicle, took to her official X handle to pen a note about working with the actor. Sharing a photo of herself with Rajinikanth, she said that working with the veteran actor was not even her wildest dream and that this phase of her life is her Padayappa moment.
She started the note by writing, "There are certain things that I’ve imagined would happen with me, but this was something that I never even dared to dream of. To imagine that I would work with The Superstar, The Thalaivar someday was not even a part of the plan." She further shared that her first shot for the TJ Gnanavel directorial was with the senior actor. "My first day, first shot was with Thalaivar, and everything about it was surreal. To see a caravan placed next to his with my name on it, to sit right next to him, to act in the same frame as him, his aura, his energy, his presence—everything was just magical."
Dushara then went on to recall her childhood days as she watched Rajinikanth's films on TV. She also added a very personal and cheerful comment about the actor, calling him a superstar. "My earliest memory as a Thalaivar fan was to wait to come home post school and watch Thalaivar’s movie. From that to this, where I get to work with him for a film, my god, I really feel lucky. Like I’ve mentioned earlier, this is also my “Padayappa” moment. I feel like all my hard work, all my patience, and everything that I’ve worked for has paid off. And once again, I’d like to say, “Orey Superstar, Orey Thalaivar, Chancey Illey.”
She ended the note with gratitude for her fans. "I sincerely thank each and everyone of you who has been constantly supporting me and encouraging me throughout my journey 🤗. I promise to work even harder moving forward."
