Director Karthik Subbaraj expressed his views on the Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan, which hit screens on Thursday. A self-confessed Rajini fan, the director has worked with him on Petta (2019).

The Jigarthanda director posted on his X account, "#Vettaiyan is an intense social drama with strong statement about the Judiciary filled with Superb Thalaivar moments..... The director recently wrapped production on the Suriya starrer, tentatively titled Suriya44. Scheduled to release sometime next year, the gangster film also stars Pooja Hegde, Joju George, and Karunakaran among others.

Other notable film personalities that have watched the film today include Vijay, Dhanush, and music composer Anirudh.
