Rajinikanth thanks fans and wellwishers for their prayers

Hours after his discharge from the hospital, actor Rajinikanth thanked all of those who wished him a speedy recovery after he fell ill on Tuesday.

In his note, the actor wrote that he heartfully thanks political and film personalities, journalists and fans for wishing him recovery.

Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Greams Road on Tuesday after complaints of blood vessel swelling near his heart. He underwent an endovascular repair where the swelling got sealed, placing a stent.

The actor was kept under medical supervision for two days after the procedure. He has reportedly been asked to take rest now. The actor is scheduled to return to shoot for Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Nagarjuna, Upendra and Soubin Shahir.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor is awaiting the release of his film Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel. The film stars an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Kishore, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Abhirami, Ritika Singh, Rohini, Dushara Vijayan, and VJ Rakshan. The film hits theatres on October 10.
