On Tuesday, on the occasion of Arun Vijay's birthday, the makers of Bala's upcoming directorial, Vanangaan, announced the film's release date. The film is all set to hit theatres for Pongal 2025.
The trailer, which was released a few weeks ago, hinted at a revenge thriller where Arun Vijay's character goes to jail for a crime he did not commit and comes back from prison to avenge those who sexually abused his sister. Arun has no dialogue in the trailer, hinting at a mute character.
Vanangaan also stars Roshni Prakash as the female lead. Samuthirakani and Mysskin play pivotal roles. The cast also includes Ridha, Chaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Dr Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldass, and Munish Sivagurunath, among others.
The film has music by GV Prakash, cinematography by RB Gurudev, and editing by Sathish Suriya. Karthik Netha has penned the lyrics for the songs in Vanangaan, while Silva has choreographed the stunts in it. Recently, Sam CS joined the crew to score the background music for the film.
It is to be noted that Suriya and Krithi Shetty were initially cast in lead roles, but they later exited the project due to scheduling conflicts and creative differences.
The film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions along with Bala's home banner, B Studios. Production on the film was completed this April.
