Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan starrer Amaran has been receiving unanimous positive responses from both audience and critics upon its release on October 31. The film won as much praise for dealing effectively with the emotions of a soldier's family as for the action sequences.
In yet another recognition for the Rajkumar Periasamy film, the Vellore village, Ranuvapettai, known for enrolling youngsters into the Indian army in large numbers, watched a special screening of the film and celebrated Amaran as their own.
The makers of Amaran poster a picture of the army family members gathered outside the theatre.
Our CE review of the film reads, "Sivakarthikeyan will no doubt secure many plaudits for his physical transformation, for owning the action scenes and the motivational speeches… but I caught myself being especially impressed with how he seemed to radiate an effortless sense of goodness and vulnerability, despite his job requiring him to be an alpha male at all times. Watch him tear up as he pleads for a teammate’s life. Watch the joy in his eyes during his OTA ceremony, with Indhu smiling softly in the background in a beautifully composed shot. Watch him hug Indhu and daughter and walk away, but change his mind to return to steal another embrace from them both. These are powerful, heartfelt moments."
The film also stars Bhuvan Arora as Sepoy Vikram Singh and Rahul Bose as Mukund's Commanding Officer, Colonel Amit Singh Dabas. Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman and Gaurav Venkatesh round up the supporting cast. Amaran is based on Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Millitary.
Amaran's crew includes music composer GV Prakash Kumar, cinematographer CH Sai, editor Kalaivanan, and stunt director Stefan Richter. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures International Productions.
