The makers of Freedom, starring actors Sasikumar and Lijomol Jose, have released the first single from the film. Titled 'Aagayam Ambuttayum', the song has been sung by Pradeep Kumar with lyrics by Snehan. The film is written and directed by Sathyasiva, who is known for helming the Kazhugu films Savaale Samaali and 1945.

The earlier released glimpse of the film showed Sasikumar and Lijomol as Sri Lankan Tamils who are ready to go to the extent of becoming suicide bombers, if that's what it takes to liberate their people back in their country. They're then seen being tortured under police custody.

Sharing details on the storyline, director Sathyasiva previously said to CE, "This is a film based on a prisonbreak, which is a true story that happened in Tamil Nadu during 1991-95. Sasikumar and Lijomol will play Sri Lankan refugees in the film who have a reason to fight for their freedom. It will showcase the emotions of those who are wrongly convicted of crime and are serving their prison sentences."

Bose Venkat and Malavika Avinash also star in prominent roles in Freedom. The film has music by Ghibran, cinematography by NS Uthaya Kumar, and editing by Srikanth NB.

Freedom is co-produced by Sujatha Pandian and Pandian Parasuraman. The makers have yet to announce a release date for Freedom. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
