SJ Suryah praises Amaran, says it is a "must watch"

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi's Amaran has been receiving unanimous praise from fans and critics ever since its release on October 31. The Rajkumar Periasamy film which told the story of Major Mukund Varadarajan's journey in the Indian Army and his relationship with his wife Indhu Rebecca Varghese, has been running in theatres with packed audiences and crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.

Several celebrities have praised the film for the lead cast's performance. Joining them is actor SJ Suryah who took to his social media handles to share a few lines of appreciation after watching the film. He said, "Amaran. What a movie. Sivakarthikeyan sir, Sai Pallavi, and team. Must watch. I am madurai for a shoot …got some time … watched the movie at Gopuram Cinemas."

Earlier actor Harish Kalyan too lauded the film and said, "Amaran is more than just a movie. It brought out the pride, emotion and patriotism in me all at once." Director Nithilan Saminathan, who recently helmed Vijay Sethupathi's 50th film Maharaja wrote, "Every film of Sivakartikeyan brother took him a step forward. Amaran would take a leap forward. Sai Pallavi adds a spark to the fire. Amaran is both brilliant and moving."

Amaran also has Bhuvan Arora playing Sepoy Vikram Singh and Rahul Bose as Mukund's Commanding Officer, Colonel Amit Singh Dabas.

Amaran also stars Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga Raaman, Mir Salman and Gaurav Venkatesh. It is based on Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Millitary.

Amaran's crew includes music composer GV Prakash Kumar, cinematographer CH Sai, editor Kalaivanan, and stunt director Stefan Richter. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures International Productions.
