The makers of one of the much-anticipated films of the year, Indian 2, the follow-up of the 1996 film Indian, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, released the second single, Neelorpam, on Wednesday.

Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with lyrics penned by Thamarai, the song has been sung by Abby V and Shruthika Samudhrala. The romantic number features actors Sidharth and Rakul Preet Singh.

The makers released the first single, which is titled Paaraa, on May 22.

Directed by Shankar, who also directed the original, Kamal Haasan will reprise his role as Senapathy, a freedom fighter-turned-vigilante who hunts down corrupt individuals he believes are misusing the freedom he fought for, in the upcoming film.

The film was announced in 2017 and went through numerous production delays. Apart from Kamal, Sidharth and Rakul, Indian 2 also features Kajal Agarwal, SJ Surya, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Delhi Ganesh, Manobala, Jagan, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Zakir Hussain, Piyush Mishra, and Akhilendra Mishra.

Cinematographer Ravi Varman, editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Anirudh are part of Indian 2's technical crew, which is backed by Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions. The film's audio launch is all set to take place on June 1.

Indian 2 is all set to hit theatres on July 12.
