On Monday, Lyca Productions, the production banner bankrolling Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan, announced that the actor has completed shooting for his portions in the upcoming film.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, who shot to fame directing the Suriya-starrer Jai Bhim (2021), the much-anticipated film features an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Dushara Vijayan, Rithika Singh, and VJ Rakshan.

It is to be noted that Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth are reuniting for a film after 33 years. Their collaboration dates back to films like Andhaa Kaanoon (1983), and Geraftaar (1985). Their last film was Hum, which was released in 1991.

Vettaiyan has music by Anirudh Ravichander. This marks Anirudh's fourth collaboration with Rajinikanth. Previously, the musician had composed for Rajinikanth's Petta, Darbar, and Jailer. Other members of the technical crew include cinematographer S R Kathir and editor Philomin Raj.

Vettaiyan is scheduled to be released in October.
