As Star, upcoming film of actor Kavin, is gearing up for its release , director Elan tells what led him to come up with this film.

In an interview to a Tamil evening daily, Elan said a particular scene shown in the trailer where Kavin's character gets humiliated while seeking an acting chance is inspired from the real life incident of actor Vijay.

It is well known that early in his career Vijay faced criticism for his looks and acting skills. While the fans guessed it watching the trailer, the director himself has confirmed the same now.

Star's cast includes also Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, and Preity Mukhundhan. The film, according to its trailer, follows a determined man who pursues a career in acting despite facing insults and rejections.

Star's technical crew comprises music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Ezhil Arasu, editor Pradeep E Ragav, costume designer Sujith Sudhakaran, art director Vinoth Raj Kumar, and stunt director Vicky.

Meanwhile, Kavin will be headlining Bloody Beggar, directed by debutant Sivabalan Muthukumar, bankrolled by director Nelson Dilipkumar's Filament Pictures.

The film will be released on May 10 alongside Arjun Das' Rasavathi and Ameer's Uyir Thamizhukku.
