In 2021, Kavin announced that he would be collaborating with director and producer Vignesh Shivan and actor Nayanthara for a film titled Oor Kuruvi, which was to be helmed by debutant Arun K. However, both Kavin and Vignesh Shivan are no longer attached to the project. 

In an exclusive interview with CE, Kavin revealed that he is no longer attached to Oor Kuruvi. Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara, who were set to produce the project under their Rowdy Pictures Banner, are also not attached to the project anymore. However, Kavin revealed that he will do some other film with Vignesh Shivan as the producer, in the future. 

Meanwhile, Kavin is currently awaiting the release of Star, helmed by Elan. The film is all set to hit theatres this Friday. Vignesh Shivan, on the other hand, is working on his next, Love Insurance Corporation (LIC), which stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Krithi Shetty and SJ Suryah.
