A week ahead of the release of Hot Spot, the makers announced that the upcoming film has completed censorship formalities and has received an A certificate from the CBFC. The hyperlink film is directed by Vignesh Karthick of Thittam Irandu and Adiyae fame.

The film stars an ensemble cast which includes Kalaiyarasan, Sandy Master, Gouri G Kishan, Ammu Abhirami, Aadhitya Baaskar, Subash Selvam, Janani and Sofia.

Earlier, the makers had released the trailer of the film which said that a practice that is followed by everyone over the years doesn't always mean that it is right. The lead characters then enter the scene, where they seem to be part of different narratives, showcasing questioning of morality as the common thread in all the narratives.

Responding to the criticism received for the trailer during a recent press meet, director Vignesh Karthick clarified that he has made a socially responsible film and the intention behind the cultural shock provided in the trailer is noble.

Produced by KJ Balamanimarbhan and Suresh Kumar under the banner of KJB Talkies and 7 Warrior Films, the technical crew of Hot Spot comprises cinematographer Gokul Benoy, editor Muthaiyan and music directors Satish Ragunathan and Vaan.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 29.
