Issuing a clarification over reports of actor Arundhathi Nair's accident, her sister Arathy Nair confirmed that Arundhathi met with a bike accident on March 14 while travelling on the Chennai Kovalam bypass road with her brother.

In her statement, Arathy wrote, "We felt the need to clarify the news reported in Tamilnadu's newspapers and television channels. It is true that my sister Arundhathi Nair had an accident three days ago; she is critically injured and fighting for her life while being kept on a ventilator at the Ananthapuri Hospital in Trivandrum." (sic)

Meanwhile, Arundhathi's friend and actress Gopika Anil sought financial aid from fans for her treatment.

Arundhathi who debuted in Pongi Ezhu Manohara was last seen in Aayiram Porkaasukal.
