In an exclusive interview with the Hindustan Times, Tamil filmmaker Pa Ranjith said that he plans on directing a Hindi film soon. The confirmation comes from the filmmaker amid rumours about his project with Ranveer Singh on social networking websites. However, he did not confirm the cast and crew details about the project, saying that "the project will be announced at the right time."

Shankar, AR Murugadoss, Gautham Menon, Mani Ratnam, and Atlee are among the filmmakers who directed Hindi films previously.

Pa Ranjith is gearing up for the release of his directorial film titled Thangalaan. Starring Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Pasupathy in lead roles, Thangalaan is reportedly slated for an April release. His Neelam Productions banner also has a slew of Tamil films in the pipeline, including one starring Dhruv Vikram.
