New poster of Arvind Swami from Karthi's Meiyazhagan out

The film, which marks Karthi's 27th, is helmed by C Prem Kumar, and also stars Sri Divya as the female lead

The makers of Karthi's Meiyazhagan unveiled a new poster of Arvind Swami on Tuesday, on the occasion of the actor's birthday. The poster features the actor in a train, standing near the door listening to music on his headphones.

Written and directed by C Prem Kumar of 96 fame, Meiyazhagan stars Sri Divya as its female lead, as well as Saran Shakthi and Rajkiran in important roles. The cast also includes Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sri Ranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran, Saran, Rachel Rebecca, Anthony, Rajkumar, Indumati, Rani Samyukta, Kayal Subramani, and Ashok Pandian.

Plot details are under wraps, but Meiyazhagan's first-look poster suggests that Karthi and Arvind Swami either play brothers or friends in the film. Produced by Suriya and Jyotika under their 2D Entertainment banner, the film which marks Karthi's 27th, was shot in and around Kumbakonam and Sivaganga.

Production on the film was wrapped this February. It has cinematography by Mahendran Jayaraju, music by Govind Vasantha, and editing by R Govindraj. It reunites Govind Vasantha and Prem Kumar after 96. The film's post-production is currently nearing completion.
