For a while now, social media has been abuzz with updates regarding a new film in the Kanchana series being in development. However, all of these updates were only speculations and there was no official confirmation from the makers.

On Sunday, Raghava Lawrence took to his official X account to deny rumours about the sequel to Kanchana 3. He wrote, "Hi friends and fans,

All the information regarding Kanchana 4 and casting that are circulating around social media are just rumours. Official announcements will be made through Raghavendra Production. Coming soon!" (sic)

The entire Kanchana series is directed by and stars Raghava Lawrence. The first film in the franchise was Muni (2007), in which he starred alongside Raj Kiran. In 2011, he made Kanchana which also featured Sarath Kumar in a prominent role. While Kanchana 2 (2015) features Taapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen in lead roles, Kanchana 3 (2019) has Oviya and Vedhika.

On the work front, Raghava Lawrence has Adhigaaram, Hunter and Durga in the pipeline.
