Vijay condoles Kerala landslide deaths

The TVK supremo urged the Kerala government to provide relief measures on war-footing

Actor and politician Vijay has expressed condolences over the deaths caused by massive landslides in Kerala's Wayanad district.

The landslides, caused by a cloudburst in Kerala, washed away houses and families during the early hours of Tuesday. The calamity left several houses completely destroyed, while also uprooting trees. Reports suggest that at least 96 people have died, including children, with several others missing.

The TVK chief on his X handle wrote, "Deeply saddened on hearing the tragic news of landslide Wayanad, Kerala. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. Request the Government authorities that the necessary rescue and relief measures be provided to the affected on a war-footing."

On the workfront, Vijay has Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), with Venkat Prabhu, which also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash, among others. The film will release in theatres on September 5.
