The bench, led by Justice Velmurugan of the Madras High Court, has dismissed the plea of S Saravanan, who sought to stop the release of Bala and Arun Vijay's Vanangaan over the film's title.

The litigant contended that he had already registered the title - Vanangaan. The judge, after hearing arguments from both sides, has set aside the petition and cleared Vanangaan's release.

The film was originally announced in 2022 with Suriya and Krithi Shetty in the lead roles before Arun Vijay and Roshini Prakash replaced them. Vanangaan also stars Samuthirakani and Mysskin in pivotal roles. The cast also includes Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Dr Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldass, and Munish Sivagurunath, among others.

The film has music by GV Prakash, cinematography by RB Gurudev, and editing by Sathish Suriya. Karthik Netha has penned the lyrics for the songs in Vanangaan, while Silva has choreographed the stunts in it.

The film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions. Production on the film was completed this April, but the makers are yet to announce its release date.
