A day after a stuntman in Sardar 2 suffered a fatal fall while filming an action sequence, actor Karthi paid last respects to his mortal remains.

In an extremely unfortunate incident, Elumalai, a stuntman who was working on the sets of the recently-commenced Karthi-starrer Sardar 2, fell to his death. He reportedly fell from a height of 20 feet.

In the official statement of Sardar 2's production house, Prince Pictures, the company stated that Elumalai accidentally fell from a 20-foot-high rostrum and sustained injuries. The statement added that he was rushed to the hospital late on July 16, but he failed to respond to the treatment and passed away.

Sardar 2 went on floors on Monday. The film is the sequel to Karthi's 2022 film Sardar, which also stars Raashi Khanna, Laila, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, and Munishkanth, among others. Sardar opened to majorly positive reviews during its release on Diwali 2022, making it one of the most commercially successful films of the year.

Cinematographer George C Williams and stunt director Dhilip Subbarayan have been retained in the technical crew, with Yuvan Shankar Raja replacing GV Prakash and Vijay Velukutty replacing Antony L Ruben as music composer and editor, respectively.

Sardar 2 is produced by Lakshman Kumar under his Prince Pictures banner.
