Dhanush's Raayan clears censorship formalities

Raayan, written and directed by Dhanush, also marks his 50th film as an actor

Two weeks ahead of the release of the release of Dhanush's upcoming film Raayan, Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the actioner has announced that the film has cleared censorship formalities and has received an A certificate from CBFC.

The makers had also released a new poster which had 'Everything is thicker than blood' in it, suggesting that the film might be high on blood and violence.

Raayan, written and directed by Dhanush, also marks his 50th film as an actor. The film marks Dhanush's second directorial venture after Pa Paandi (2017).

The ensemble cast of Raayan also includes Prakash Raj, Kalidas Jayaram, SJ Suryah, Selvaraghavan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Saravanan, and Dushara Vijayan.

Raayan has music by AR Rahman, cinematography by Om Prakash, editing by Prasanna GK, stunts by Peter Hein, as well as dance choreography by Prabhu Deva and Baba Baskar.

The film is slated to be released in theatres on July 26.
