Rajinikanth's upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has officially begun filming. The actor will be joined by Sathyaraj after 38 years since Mr Bharath. Details of the rest of the cast and plot are kept under wraps.

On the technical team, Coolie has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Philomin Raj. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh along with Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie is scheduled to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.

Rajinikanth, who was last seen in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam, also has TJ Gnanavel's Vettaiyan which is currently in its final schedule of filming.
