R Mutharasan, the Secretary of the Communist Party of TamilNadu, will be making his acting debut with a new film titled Arisi. Starring Samuthirakani in an important role the film is said to be a heart-wrenching tale about farmers' plight in our country. 

The film produced by Monika Productions has music by Ilaiyaraaja and is directed by SA Vijaykumar. Arisi has cinematography by Johnson and editing by Ashok Charles. The makers are yet to reveal the release date of the film. 

Samuthirakani, who was seen in the recent release Hanuman, has big ticket releases like Game Changer and Indian 2 in his lineup.
