Two weeks ahead of the release, the makers of Blue Star have released the trailer of the film. Starring Ashok Selvan and Shanthnu Bhagyaraj in lead roles, the film is all set to release in theatres on January 25.

The 2.39-minute-long trailer showcases the love for cricket that Ranjith (Ashok Selvan) and Rajesh (Shanthnu) share. Even as their families oppose them playing the sport for a living, they continue working on their game. As rivals, Ranjith and Rajesh are battling it out with cricket matches. Anandhi (Keerthi Pandian) plays Ranjith's love interest and motivates him to continue playing the game to prove his prowess. It looks like the film will conclude in an intense match that will stand as a litmus test to prove their skill in the game.

Revolving around cricket, the film is written and directed by S Jayakumar. Besides Ashok Selvan and Shanthnu, Blue Star also features Keerthi Pandian, Prithvirajan, Bagavathi Perumal, Elango Kumaravel, Lizzie Antony, Divya Duraisamy, Arun Balaji, Balaji Prasad, Raghav, Shajji, Damu, Jeyachandran, Jeyaperumal and others. The film features the maiden collaboration of Ashok Selvan and Keerthi, who got married last year.

Last year, two singles from the film, Railin Oligal and Arakkonam Style were released by the makers. While Railin Oligal was sung by Pradeep Kumar and Shakthisree Gopalan with lyrics by Uma Devi, Arakkonam Style was sung by Arivu and Gana Balachandar with lyrics written by Arivu.

The film is backed by Pa Ranjith under his banner Neelam Productions. Besides Ashok Selvan and Keerthi, the film also stars Prithvi, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, and others.

The technical crew consists of Govind Vasantha scoring the music and Thamizh A Azhagan handling the cinematography. Selva RK is the editor.
