Mayandi Kudumbathar sequel is in the works 

In 2020, it was reported that directed Nandha Periyasamy is in talks to make a sequel to the film

A sequel to the 2009 family-drama film Mayandi Kudumbathar is currently in the works. Directed by Rasu Madhuravan, the original film was noted for starring ten directors. The director passed away in 2013.

United Arts Banner, who made the original film, is bankrolling the sequel with KP Jagannath set to write and direct the film, it is worth noting that he acted in the original. Interestingly, the original cast members—including  Ponvannan, Seeman, KP Jagannath, Tarun Gopi, GM Kumar, Ravi Mariya, Nandha Periyasamy, Singampuli, and Raj Kapoor—are returning for the sequel.
